Tim Yandell was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. He began his education at Texas Wesleyan College but eventually transferred to Abilene Christian University, where he received both his BA in Public Relations/Mass Communications and an MS in Organizational and Human Resources. Tim is married to Dr. Traci Merkel Yandell, who is currently a math professor at ACU.

Tim has worked for not-for-profits in the West Texas and Abilene area throughout his career, raising millions of dollars for both capital projects and operational funding. Tim’s involvement in the local Abilene community has been extensive. He served as founding board chair for Abilene Home Away from Home, which connects first term airmen and women who are new to Dyess Air Force Base with Abilene families to serve as mentors. He is a former board member of the Abilene Chamber of Commerce and past chair of the Abilene Convention and Visitors Bureau. Traci and Tim are former co-chairs of the Future Fund, a part of the Community Foundation of Abilene, which encourages philanthropy in the Abilene community.

Tim is tremendously proud of his long time involvement at Abilene Christian University, having served as the Alumni Board President, member of the President’s Circle and several university committees, including the Centennial Committee and volunteer fundraiser. Tim is also a long time member of the Abilene Rotary Club.

Tim recently had his heart stolen by a 75 lb black-mouth cur mix, who invited herself into a funeral Tim was serving at on Hickory Street. After remaining unclaimed at the shelter, the aptly named “Hickory” moved in with Tim and Traci, where she spends most of her days occupying what is now her spot on the couch. Tim and Traci attend church in Abilene at The Well.
