The hours of operation are designed to ensure that all domestic and wild animals are properly and humanely cared for and that the public has adequate and ample opportunity to conduct business at the Abilene Animal Shelter.

MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY: 11AM - 2PM, 3PM - 6PM
SUNDAY: 1PM - 5 PM
Admission Hours
Stray drop-off and owner surrenders (by appointment only)
MON/TUES/THURS/FRI: 11AM - 2PM
CLOSED WEDS/SAT/SUN
After hours, call animal control for emergency stray pick-up only.
Emergency Service Hours
Animal control responds to animal emergencies 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Any situation is considered an emergency in which a domestic or wild animal is in danger or is creating a danger to the community.
